Central Park may be New York City’s most famous park, but it is nowhere near the only one. While there are several green spaces throughout the city, one of the most unique is the High Line. This public park in the sky is one of the newest parks in NYC. It combines history, nature, art, culture, shopping, and community. Head to the west side of Manhattan and explore history and nature by walking the High Line in New York City.
The High Line follows the original train track path. It starts at the intersection of Gansevoort and Washington Streets in the Meatpacking District. The park runs north through Chelsea and Hudson Yards. It ends at 34th Street near 11th Avenue. It is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
There are 15 access points along the High Line, making it easy to access different points along the park. There are also elevators at four locations for those who don’t want to take the stairs. Park-level access is also at the CSX Transportation Gate on 30th Street at Hudson Yards. You can also take one of the free- docent-led tours for more in-depth information. They are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from May to October and Wednesdays and Saturdays from November to April.
To get to the nearest High Line access point from the Concorde Hotel New York, head south on Lexington Avenue to East 29th Street, turn left, and continue to Park Avenue South. Cross Park Avenue South and proceed onto East 28th Street, then turn right onto 10th Avenue. Walk north for two blocks until you reach West 30th Street. The High Line access point will be on your left
