Each June, New York City becomes a lot more colorful as businesses throughout the city hang a pride flag on their storefronts. However, the symbolism of this flag runs deeper. In 1999, President Bill Clinton declared June “Gay & Lesbian Pride Month.” In 2021, President Joe Biden updated June to “LGBTQ Pride Month.” With New York City being so culturally diverse, it is the perfect place for celebrating Pride Month and how far the community has come. Check out these events happening throughout the city.

New York Pride Parade

Celebrate Pride Month in Midtown at Rockefeller Center. Through the month of June, Pride Summer Movie Nights features movies that celebrate LGBTQ+ pride. There are also several stores throughout Rockefeller Center that offer specials, promotions, and programs. If you're staying at the Concorde Hotel, it's just a quick 9-minute drive or a pleasant 12-minute walk to reach the Rockefeller Center, making it convenient to join in the festivities.

Times Square Pride

Celebrate Pride Month in the heart of Manhattan. The Times Square Pride celebration takes place from June 28–29, 2024. Interactive installations allow attendees to have a fully immersive experience. A central stage will host Broadway production features, celebrities, sponsorship presentations, Pride Piano Bar sessions, DJs, and so much more. Times Square, bustling with excitement, is just 12 minutes by car or 23 minutes by walking from Concorde Hotel, offering easy access to this vibrant celebration.

Greenwich Village

The Greenwich Village neighborhood is a perfect place to celebrate Pride Month with its deep historical significance within the LGBTQ community. PrideFest is a community event that features activities, music, food, vendors, and exhibits. As you walk through the streets, make your way over to the Stonewall Inn. It is the site of the Stonewall Uprising that took place in June of 1969. Additionally, Greenwich Village is only 23 minutes by car from the Concorde Hotel, making it easily accessible for those wanting to explore this iconic neighborhood during Pride Month.

Hudson Yards

Bring your furry friend to celebrate at Woof Fest: Paws for Pride. Taking place at Manhattan West Plaza in Hudson Yards, this pet-centric festival promises a fun day out. There will be several attractions and events for attendees to enjoy.

●    Pup Psychic
●    Pet Reiki for Healing
●    Pup-a-razzi Photo Op
●    Paw-Traits of Pride
●    Local BARK-et of Treats

The Garden Party at The Center is also happening in Hudson Yards. Head over to Pier 76 on Monday, June 24th. This event is an enjoyable evening of food, drinks, live music, activities, and celebrity guests. Hudson Yards is just 20 minutes by car from the Concorde Hotel, making attending these exciting Pride events convenient.

Meatpacking District and West Village

In the Meatpacking District, you can visit the Whitney Museum of American Art, which offers free Pride programs throughout June. Moreover, both the Meatpacking District and West Village are just 27 minutes by car from Concorde Hotel, making it easy to explore these dynamic neighborhoods and their Pride festivities.

Morningside Heights

Kick off Pride Month with The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine, located in Morningside Heights of the Upper West Side. The iconic Pride Lights display will be held throughout the month. In addition, the church hosts book talks, picnics, silent discos, and story hours. Morningside Heights is just 25 minutes by car from Concorde Hotel, allowing you to easily immerse yourself in these Pride events.
